There was no ultimate winner for the 9th Edition, here is why:

Good day everyone,

As you may have noticed, there is no winner for the 9th Edition of The Most Creative Contest. While we have a 1st and 2nd Runner Up, there was no ultimate Winner.

The reason for this is as follows:

The intended winner was Unor Melvin G, an Instrumentalist. However, we discovered during the 9th Edition that Unor Melvin G is a direct and immediate relative of the winner of the 7th Edition, Melody Unor.

Upon uncovering this information, we took immediate action by sending an email to Unor Melvin G, requesting him to cease receiving votes. We also reached out to his consecutive voters, urging them to stop voting for him.

As followers of our contest may know, we strive for complete openness and transparency. In our contest, the participant with the highest number of votes is declared the winner, and no one can prevent this outcome.

Despite our emails to Unor Melvin and his consecutive voters, they continued to vote persistently, resulting in him emerging as the winner.

Considering that we had warned Unor Melvin to stop receiving votes and informed him that he would not receive the prize money if he persisted and became the winner, we made the difficult decision to stand by our word and deny him the prize.

While recommending our contests to friends and distant relatives is permissible and within our rules, encouraging immediate relatives to participate is strictly prohibited. We firmly believe that our contest should not be perceived as a family affair. Consequently, immediate relatives of past winners are not allowed to participate. If you take part in our contest, appreciate our processes, and emerge as the winner, you are welcome to recommend it to your friends and distant relatives. However, it is not in line with our values to have multiple members of the same family repeatedly winning, as it can tarnish our reputable brand that many have grown to love and admire.

Having said that, let us explain why this incident will never occur again:

We understand that you all appreciate and support our contest because of the utmost reliability and transparency we uphold. We sincerely apologize for this unfortunate incident and assure you that it will not be repeated. We have implemented additional verification layers in our registration process to prevent immediate relatives of past winners from participating in our contest. This will ensure that a situation where someone becomes the winner but does not receive their prize money will no longer arise. Going forward, all winners will receive their prizes, as we will conduct thorough checks and corrections before allowing them to fully participate in the final stage of the contest.

It is also important to note that despite Unor Melvin being denied the prize money, he received a consolation prize of N100,000.
